June 19, 2010  The 2010 Wilmington Illinois Rotary Car Cruises are Saturday Night, June 19, (rain date June 26) and new this year, Sunday Afternoon, August 22 (rain date August 29).  The Saturday night show is from 6-9 PM with the gate open at 5PM. The Sunday afternoon show is 2-5PM with the gate open at 1PM.  The June 26 showis at the familiar downtown location.  The Sunday afternoon show is located at North Island Park which is one block west of downtown.  Signs will direct everyone to the shows.  Showing vehicles pay $10.00 at the gate.  Walking public is free.  T-shirts are given to the first fifty vehicles.  The first one hundred will receive a dash plaque and goodie bag. Eighteen trophies are presented at each show.  Come and enjoy family fun including free refreshments distributed by the Wilmington High School Interact Club, door prizes, split-the-pot raffle,  food venders, “Thank You Wilmington!” raffle and bean bag contests.  Contact Bruce at 815-476-6526, 5-9PM for more information or go to www.wilmington-il.com/rotary

September 19, 2010, Dayton OH,  Dayton History is pleased to announce the fourth Annual Dayton Concours d’Elegance at Carillon Park on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. featuring the cars of Walter P. Chrysler and Alfa-Romeo.  Dayton History and the Concours Committee are pleased to announce that Miami Valley AAA will once again present this year’s Dayton Concours d’Elegance at Carillon Park, held on Sunday, September 19, 2010. The event will showcase antique and classic automobiles and motorcycles, on the grounds of the historic park.

The automobiles of Walter P. Chrysler and Alfa-Romeo will be the featured marques for the Concours.  The weekend will kick-off on Saturday afternoon with a driving tour and visit to a local automotive museum for Concours participants.  Saturday evening will feature a casual party, open to the public, on the grounds of the Carillon Historical Park. The Preview Party offers a special preview of automobiles, an automotive art pavilion, live music, silent auction, food and beverages. Saturday evening’s Preview Party will be held from 6:30 - 11 pm. Cost is $75 per person and reservations are required.

The Concours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday and will also feature live entertainment, an automotive art pavilion; sponsor exhibits and a variety of local food and beverages. All exhibits at the park will be open. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 3-17 with children under 3 free. A commemorative program is included with admission.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Dayton History, Montgomery County’s official historical organization.  Dayton History brings the past to life to understand the present and inspire the future by collecting, preserving, interpreting, presenting, and promoting the region’s past.
